David has become quite willful about his clothes, mostly rejecting all offers. I was trying to get his shoes on, so he and Daddy could go off to gymnastics. I opened up the Velcro straps, got it near his foot and David announced, “Not that one.” He wanted the left shoe on the right foot.

I said, “No problem honey.”

I quickly opened the straps on the other shoe and twirled both around in my hands. Now you see it. Now you don’t. And when I reached down to guide his foot in, he calmly let me put the right shoe on the right foot.
