Mood:
Happy, Giddly, Peaceful, and a bit Exhausted.

The last few days have been amazing. I feel refreshed, renewed, giddy, and exhausted all at one time. Also, I'm having some muscle problems (soreness, weakness, and trembles) - but more on that later.

Thursday:

Lisa came over early in the morning and we headed to the outlets in Camarillo. It was wonderful seeing her again and just spending some girl time together. We talked about a lot of things that we needed to talk about and I think we both realized that we need to try and hang out more often. At the outlet stores I ended up getting two things. I got a briefcase at the Coach outlet (very cool briefcase, very good price for Coach) and a pair of cozy pyjamas for Rob. After the outlets we headed up to Ventura for her doctor's appointment. Everything went well at the appointment and when we were done there we headed to a mall in Ventura. We did some shopping and got some things. I ended up getting Rob some t-shirts at Old Navy, a sleep shirt for me with a baby Eeyore on it, a bag and some tissue paper for Rob's gifts, and a necklace and some perfume as a belated b-day gift for Lisa. We had lunch at the McDonald's food court and pretty much went through the entire mall. Lisa made a stop at Victoria's Secret and got a bra and a ton of panties (the panty whore is back in action - love ya Lisa). After the mall we headed back home and she dropped me off at my place. I got home a little before Rob and was able to have most of his b-day gifts wrapped and ready to go when he got home. After he got home we finished packing and headed on the road.

The drive up to Solvang wasn't bad at all. There was a bit of traffic in the LA area, but it was pretty much clear sailing for the rest of the way there. I had to watch my speed because there were a ton of cops on the road. We got in to Solvang around 9:30pm and checked into our hotel (The Royal Scandanavian). We ordered in Chinese food from a local restaurant and had dinner and Rob opened his presents. We watched some TV after dinner and then turned in. I think all in all Rob had a good b-day. He pretty much passed out, but I had a very hard time falling asleep that night. I had forgotten to bring any sleeping pills with me and the uncomfortable bed and pillows threw me off. Finally, around 5am, I was able to fall asleep.

The hotel was pretty cool - very clean and no bugs like in the cottages we usually stay in. But it's a toss up as to what I like better. I think in hot weather it's better to stay at the cottages because they have a very good AC system. And in colder weather maybe staying at the hotel is better because of the lack of spiders. However, the AC in the hotel blows ass. It's on a motion sensor so if you're sitting and watching TV or sleeping it turns itself off. Grr.

Friday:

We got up around 12:30pm - which was later than we wanted to, but everything worked out time wise anyway. We showered and got dressed and headed out of the hotel. We grabbed lunch at The Belgian Cafe and then walked around the town and did some shopping. We hit all of the stores that we wanted to and Rob ended up getting me a Beanie Baby vulture (I named it Vrock - props to you if you catch the reference) and we got a stained glass tur-tel to put on our window with the stained glass fishays we already have. We made a pit stop for some Sasparilla and when we were done wandering the town we headed back to the hotel and took a brief nap. After the nap we headed out to dinner and gorged ourselves on sausages and aebleskiver. Yum. After dinner we did a lot more walking and then headed back to the hotel room. Watched some TV, did some other stuff, and went to bed.

Saturday:

We got up around 11am, cuddled in bed for a bit, and then showered and got dressed. We decided to make Saturday a day of pampering. We wandered the town a bit more, grabbed lunch, and found a nail salon. I got my nails done (I was in desperate need of a manicure, I think my cuticles were growing cuticles on them) and had them painted a clear pink color. They look very cool and I don't think they'll be too noticible when they start to chip from my typing. After the nail salon we wandered around a bit more and stopped in at the De Stress Cafe for massages. Mmmmmmm. Rob got a back and shoulder massage and came out of there with no back pain. I got a reflexology foot massage. We both really needed the massages. After the massages we wandered around for a bit and then went back to the hotel room for awhile. After some relaxing we went to dinner at a place with a smorgasborg. We had more aebleskiver for dessert and then decided to do more walking. We spent some time in a romantic area near a fountain and just ... relaxed. After being out in the night for awhile we headed back to the hotel.

This weekend was just what we both needed. There were some definite highlights, unfortunately I don't think it's appropriate to post about them on here. *wink* The whole weekend was relaxing and incredible. I can't even tell you how much we needed something like that. We didn't go to sleep until VERY late on Saturday night.

Sunday:

We got up around 9am, cuddled for a bit, showered, got dressed, and packed up. We checked out of the hotel around 11:30am, headed to a local restaurant for breakfast, and then hit the road. The drive back to LA was very good. Apparently driving on the 101 in the middle of the day on Easter is a very good idea because no one else is doing it. Traffic didn't even congest up when we were back in the LA area. When we got home we unpacked and took a nap. We woke up later on and watched some TV and did some other things. We got to bed a bit late, but it wasn't a problem since we had napped earlier in the day. Unfortunately when we went to sleep I had some problems. My muscles were shaking very badly and they felt very weak and strained. Rob checked out my symptoms on the computer to make sure it wasn't anything serious and we found out that everything that was happening to me were the symptoms of exhaustion. Yes, Solvang was relaxing, but last night the exhaustion made sense. So, we went to sleep.

Monday (today):

I slept in this morning and my muscles are still sore and weak, but most of the shaking has stopped. Today I'm taking it easy around the house and doing household things that NEED to be done like some cleaning and the laundry. Tonight I think we're just going to stay in.
