Wishing I was anywhere but here.

Yesterday my Mom, Rob, and I got up around 10am. Rob and I got ready and finished packing (we packed a lot of things the night before). Around 12:30pm we headed out of my Mom's house and hit the road. Around 2pm we made a stop for lunch, and around 4pm we got to my Uncle Kim's house. We hung out there for about 45 minutes, picked my Grandma up, and headed to the Milwaukee airport. My Mom dropped Rob and I off around 5:30pm.

Everything went well with coming home. There was pretty much no line at all at the check in counter or at security. Our plane took off on time and had minimum turbulence even though we flew over several thunderstorms. Lightning looks really cool when you're looking down on it. Our plane landed on time and our luggage came in about a half an hour after our arrival (which, for LAX, is pretty quick). Our limo managed to pick us up this time and we got back to our place around 11:00pm. We went through our mail, called my Mom to let her know we were back, played with the kitties, unpacked, and went to bed.

Today has been pretty uneventful for me. I slept in because plane rides always leave me with jet lag the next day. Tomorrow I'm going to work on around the house stuff and job hunting. Rob and I talked about moving again when we were on the plane yesterday. Milwaukee is a very nice city (and the houses there are affordable) so I might get in touch with my tax attorney and see if he can put my resume out for me or something. Our only concern with moving was the fact that he has really good job stability and we didn't want him throwing that away. Unfortunately, that may not be a concern for us anymore.

When Rob got into work today he got some bad news. His hospital is losing so much money that they're closing down a lot of the "non-essential" departments. Since they can't fully close Human Resources down, they're thinking about making it three days a week. Rob gets paid by the day, so missing two days a week would seriously mess up our financial situation, especially since I have yet to find a job. He'll find out more about the situation later this week. If his days do end up getting cut, chances are he will be also be job hunting. This is not what we need right now. Why can't things like this happen when I'm working? *sigh* So, we're starting to think that if his days are cut it might be for the best for us to get the hell out of LA. It would be a hassle (everything from my hair colorist, to my doctors, to the vet, to our friends, to our LIFE is out here), but it might be for the best if we can both find some stable work somewhere else. LA is not looking too good when it comes to the job market right about now. I'll keep you all updated on this and I have a feeling that Rob might make a posting about this whole work situation. Then again, when it comes to him posting, you never can tell.
