D&D And My Crappy Phone

Tonght was D&D night. We got a sub platter from Togo's and did a lot of out of character talking. Game was fun and we turned a fearsome Death Slaad into a mentally challenged pet for Neveah, our resident half-dragon completely insane Druid. Not only do I enjoy the gaming itself, but I also like just chilling out with Carrie, Bryce, Pita, Berek, and Rob.

So, it looks like my cell phone is on and off workable. Mostly off though. After beating the tar out of it, it turned on! Unfortunately, even though the on/off key was working, other keys were not. Every time I turn it on there's a new problem with it. Either a key won't function, or it won't make a call, or it crashes and gives me a blue screen of death. I really need a new phone. If my Dad remembers my b-day, I'll probably use that money to get a new phone. Otherwise, it looks like my Mom is cool with getting me a new phone for X-mas. I hope to get one before then so that the money I spend on my service isn't wasted, but hey - I'll take what I can get when I can get it.

One of the phones I'm interested in getting is what Berek has. Unfortunately, it's a Motorola. I asked him about it and he's had some problems with it. I think it might be best for me to stay away from Motorola and stick with a Nokia. I did want a flip phone because I keep my phone in my purse and a non-flip phone gets rather scratched up, but Rob brought up the genius idea of getting a case for it. The down side to using a case is that I won't be able to hear it ring through the case and my purse, but the upside is it won't get all scratched up. Nokia doesn't seem to make any model of flip phone that I can get through AT&T. After looking over the phones that AT&T sells, there is a Nokia one I have my eye on. If I buy it out right it's $350. If I sign another year to my contract (which I will not do because I am switching companies right when my contract comes up in February of 2006) it would be $150. They SO screw you on that. Trying to force people in to new contracts is just not right.
