Day Trip To Solvang

Mood:
Wishing I was back in Solvang and not stuck in LA.

Does anybody even read this anymore? Or does no one have cell phones? Cause only three people (Berek, Manny, and Lisa) have answered my cell phone question and I really need some help here. Anyone???

Anyway, Saturday Rob and I had planned on spending the day up in Solvang, but our plans were cancelled on account of rain. So, we stayed around here and we only went out to go to dinner at The Olive Garden.

Sunday was a different story. The weather reports said it would be sunny and so we decided to see what things looked like in the am. We woke up at 6:30am and there were no clouds in the sky, so we decided to do our day trip to Solvang. We left the house around 8am and Rob drove. He seems to be getting the hang of driving and he did very well. We even was able to murder a few large and juicy bugs on his windshield. He's decided that his car is male and has named it General Zod, or Zod for short.

We arrived in Solvang at around 10am. Traffic was wonderful the whole way there. We grabbed breakfast at the Belgian Cafe and then walked around and did some shopping. We also did a tour of the town (which blew - it ended up just pointing out the stores we already knew were there) in a horse drawn street hazard of a trolly. In the trolly was a family where the baby had this weird dead taxidermied cat she was playing with. Too creepy. But with the way she was throwing it around and treating it, it was probably for the best that the cat was already dead.

We ate lunch at the restaurant with the blue windmill and had the sausage platter for two. We then did more walking and shopping. I ended up getting quite a few things. A pair of slippers to take with me to my Mom's house for Xmas, a Xmas present for my Mom, a weird electronic game called Q20 that can guess what you're thinking (the game rocks), and a worry stone for both myself and Rob. When we were done shopping we went into the De-Stress cafe for massages. Rob had a 30 minute chair massage and I got a ten minutes chair massage and a 30 minute reflexology foot massage. It was amazing. I wish that place was closer to us - I'd be in there all the time!

We ate dinner at the Chinese restaurant and then headed back home. It was so nice to do a day trip to Solvang. Now we can go there more often without having to worry about paying for a hotel! It was a wonderful day and both Rob and I were very relaxed. He said he didn't even think about work all day, which for him is a miracle. He drove us back home and we stopped at the Collar and Leash where Berek works (but he wasn't at work at the time) to pick up some cat food and filters for their water bowl. When we got home we relaxed for a bit and then went to bed.

Yesterday night I took Rob out to the fondue restaurant because he had a horrific day at work. We had a nice romantic dinner. Today I'm back online doing job hunting and doing crap like laundry around the house. Today was the day they switched out our TV. We no longer have cable. For the next month we have just the basic local channels and that's it. Then, in January, unless we sign up with a plan and pay we lose all TV. We still haven't decided what we're going to do about that yet.
