Waiting...

Today we waited. And waited. And waited some more. My Dad was supposed to call at 11am to finalize plans to meet up in Rockford (it's about halfway between where I am in Galena and where he is in Chicago) for dinner. His first call came in at 2pm. He was still in a deposition and said he'd call me back when he got out (in about an hour). A little after 4pm he called back again. He had just gotten out of the dep and said he wanted to check on the traffic before deciding if he wanted to make the drive. He said he'd call me back in ten minutes. About a half hour later he called and said he wasn't up for the drive. That the traffic would be too bad and he had to get up early tomorrow for another dep. *sigh* There's been something rather important I've been wanting to tell him for awhile now and he knows that. He wanted Rob and I to come to Chicago for the rest of the visit, but that's just not possible. So, I decided to tell him the news I had on the phone. I was worried how he'd take it, and was pleasantly surprised. He was happy, and surprised. But he took the news very well. Whew. Big relief. He said he's going to be in San Diego next month for eye surgery and will try to meet up with us then. Due to the news I gave him, I think he really might try to meet up with us, but I'm not holding my breath.

Unfortunately, all the waiting meant we lost an entire day here. Just sitting around and waiting for his call. With me singing most of the entire Nightmare Before Xmas soundtrack with the word "bored" replacing all the other words. Bleh.

When we finally found out that we weren't meeting up with my Dad, my Mom, Rob, and I headed out. We made a quick stop at the grocery store and then had dinner at Happy Joe's. It's a pretty good pizza place. I wasn't able to eat much because I started feeling very sick in the middle of dinner. Sadly enough, I'm starting to get used to getting sick after I eat. My Nana refused to leave the house, so she ate dinner at my Mom's place. My Mom fixed her some food and put it in a bag so that she could carry it to the TV room while using her walker.

When we got home I passed out for awhile. I wasn't feeling good at all and what was going to be some cuddle time with Rob ended up with both of us falling asleep from 7pm until 9pm. I felt a lot better when I woke up.
