This afternoon Rob and I took my Mom's car and headed into the Aquarium in Dubuque. We didn't have a lot of time there, but it was still fun. They have a new "Toadally Frogs" exhibit on the second level. So, we got to see a whole bunch of cool frogs. And for the first time since we've started going there, the river museum was open, so we checked that out as well. My favorites are still the turtles and the alligator which I named Skippy McGatorpants the first time I went there. When we were getting out tickets there were some "old fashioned" people in front of us in line. I'm not sure what they were, I don't think they were Mormons. Maybe Quakers or Menonites or something like that? I don't think I've ever seen any of them around here. But I guess it makes sense in an area like this. Rob picked up two things in the gift shop while I was in the bathroom. He got me a little "lucky frog" and got Kaylea a stuffed ray. It matches the "perfectly round sharks" we picked up for her when we were at the Long Beach Aquarium the last time.

After the Aquarium we headed back to the house and got my Mom and Nana. We made a quick stop in Galena and picked up a few more things for Kaylea. Some clothing and a blanket and the like. It's so much fun shopping for her. I like it even more than shopping for myself. From there we headed to Timmerman's for dinner. Unfortunately, dinner didn't go so well. I've been lucky on the morning sickness front so far. Just a bit queasy when I wake up, but nothing big. I do however get nauseous on a regular basis after eating. This time it was bad. After just a few bites of my meal I got super sick and ran into the bathroom and threw up. I swear, I'm at Kaylea's mercy when it comes to what I eat. If she doesn't like it, she lets me know it!

On the way home from dinner I got a cup of frozen custard at Culver's in the drive-thru. It really helped to settle my stomach. We then headed to Wal*Mart where my Mom picked up some elastic so she could work on some maternity pants for me. While in there she also picked up some baby washclothes and some sleepers for Kaylea. So nice of her! Then we made a quick stop at the grocery store and headed home. Now we're just doing our usual nighttime stuff of watching TV while I mess around on my Mom's computer. Well, as much as I can considering it's slow and on dial up. Eep.

*sigh* We have to leave on Sunday morning. Only one day left here. I am not happy about that. I don't want to go back home. I like it here and home is a festering hellhole. I wish we could be out here for longer.

It 's comforting to say that 'practice makes perfect'....
You are 'Gregg shorthand'. Originally designed to
enable people to write faster, it is also very
useful for writing things which one does not
want other people to read, inasmuch as almost
no one knows shorthand any more. You know how important it is to do things
efficiently and on time. You also value your
privacy, and (unlike some people) you do not
pretend to be friends with just everyone; that
would be ridiculous. When you do make friends,
you take them seriously, and faithfully keep
what they confide in you to yourself.
Unfortunately, the work which you do (which is
very important, of course) sometimes keeps you
away from social activities, and you are often
lonely. Your problem is that Gregg shorthand
has been obsolete for a long time.

What obsolete skill are you?
