2005-09-28 3:14 PM Burgers and Emily Rose Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (0) Last night Rob and I headed to Burbank for dinner and a movie. We had dinner at Fuddrucker's, some ice cream at Cold Stone (though they don't carry the cake batter ice cream anymore, how much does that suck), and then saw a 7:35 showing of The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It was a much better movie than I had expected. While it wasn't all that scary, it was very interesting. The scenes involving the girl were engrossing, but the courtroom scenes bugged the hell out of me. I don't know why movies and TV can never seem to portray a courtroom scene with any accuracy. You can't randomly walk around in the well and you CAN'T show evidence that has not been authenticated and introduced to the jury during your opening statement. So yeah, the courtroom scenes bugged the hell out of me, but the rest was really good and made up for that annoyance. I don't think I would have had a huge problem with the courtroom scenes had I not gone to law school and taken trial practice. Overall it was enjoyable and I'd recommend it to people who are into horror movies and the like. After the movie we made a stop at the drug store and at the ATM. Wow, the area near the ATM was whore central last night. A whole bunch of "tags" (skanks) were standing outside of a restaurant/bar and talking. Their speaking sounded like the yipping of small dogs and most of them were smoking. I already had a headache when I went to the ATM and their yipping and cigarette smoke made it all the worse. Bleh. I grabbed some foodage after this thinking that my headache might be blood sugar related and I was right, once I ate the headache was gone. It looks like I'm going to have to eat a lot more often than I'm used to for the rest of this pregnancy. My pregnancy seems to have my hypoglycemia acting up a lot more than usual. I'm just worried about that because I don't want to gain any more than the recommended pregnancy weight. ----------
