Worried about the air quality effecting my asthma.

The Southern California area is on a whole lot of fire. Not only up near the Calabasas area, but also in Burbank. Since we're very close to Burbank (and downwind of the Calabasas area fire) our area is covered in smoke and it's raining ash. This is a very bad thing for me right now considering I'm a severe asthmatic and 19 weeks pregnant. If I go outside from now on, I'm wearing a mask. Yeah, I'll look like a freak, but an asthma attack can severely hurt the baby and I'm not about to risk that. I just hope the air is clean tomorrow night in the Buena Park area. Rob and I are headed to the Haunt at Knott's and I don't want to have a mask on all night. They work well to keep me from breathing in smoke and particulate matter, but I can't keep one on for too long because I don't get enough air and I start to hyperventilate and get woozy. Bleh. These fires need to stop. Fire season - yet another reason on my ever expanding list of why I would like to move.

Last night (before we knew there was even a new fire in Burbank) Rob and I headed over to the Burbank Olive Garden. I was jonesing for their salad. By the time we got there we knew there was another fire going on. Not only was the area all smoky and ashy, but we could see the flames when looking across the 5 freeway. I didn't have a mask with me so whenever we were outside I breathed through my shirt. That seemed to work well enough considering this morning I was only coughing a bit but Rob's lungs were burning (he just breathed in the air as usual). Dinner was yummy and we even made a stop at Krispy Kreme for dessert.

On our way home I needed to make a stop at the drug store for my prescriptions and then we headed back to our place. Tonight we toyed with the idea of seeing a movie, but I don't know how good of an idea it is for me to be in the Burbank area what with how bad the air is there and all. We'll decide what we're doing tonight when Rob gets home from work. No D&D because not everyone could make it.

As a side note, I just wanted to congratualate a certain friend on finding out the sex of her baby today. I'm not going to say who it is or what the sex is (that's for her to do on her own journal), but I did want to give her a public congrats!

What Your Sleeping Position Says
You are calm and rational.
You are also giving and kind - a great friend.
You are easy going and trusting.
However, you are too sensible to fall for mind games.
