2005-10-02 5:55 PM Knott's Halloween Haunt (Round 1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: My whole body hurts. Read/Post Comments (0) Friday night there was no D&D so Rob and I headed out to have Chinese food at Phoenix Garden (out in LaVerne). While we were driving out there we got a view of the flames of the Burbank fire. Our area was nasty and smoke filled. It was much nicer out in LaVerne and the air was breathable. This made me feel better about the Knott's trip on Saturday since it seemed that the areas further away from the fires were breathable. On the way home, looking at the flames from the freeway, it looked as if there was a volcano in Burbank. Saturday we went to the Halloween Haunt at Knott's. I had no asthma problems and the air down there didn't seem to be effected by the plethora of fires up here in the valley. We got there early and parked in a close lot. We had dinner at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant and then chilled out until they let us into the park. It wasn't until last night that I realized just how easily you can get exhausted when you're pregnant. Wow. I was a wreck after just a little bit of walking. That being said, I was an idiot and stuck around until around 1am (and am paying for it today). We were disappointed to see that the Malice in Wonderland maze is no more. That was one of our favorites. *grumbles* The first mazes we went into were the new fairy tale one and the asylum. Both were okay. As much as I wanted to go on the log ride (it's my favorite and is also the werewolf maze), I had to abstain. We asked someone who worked there and they said it was recommended that expectant mothers do not ride it. I figure they know best from experience, so we skipped it. We did go on the mine ride though (they said that one was fine) and it blew. It used to be a cool underworld maze, but this year it's dead miners. Ooooh, lame. From there we grabbed some yummy shakes and then went on the clown maze. Not bad. By this time I was hurting pretty badly. I was taking sit down breaks after every maze, but already my back and legs were killing me. Still, we went on. Probably not the brightest idea considering the fact that every muscle in my body hurts today and I can barely walk. But at least it was fun. We then did a new maze that is were Blood Bayou used to be. I'm glad that one's gone, it sucked. The new one is a haunted Victorian house. It's called 13 Axe Murder House or something like that. Now that one was very cool. Probably my favorite of the night. After another sit down break we went on Hatchet High which was pretty good as well. After yet another sit down break we tried to head to the TV show maze, but got horribly lost in the mists (luckily we did not end up in Ravenloft) and decided to do the vampire maze since we were near it. I really wanted to do the TV show one, but just couldn't do any more. We skipped all the shows and some of the other mazes. By the time I needed to head out, I could barely walk. The park was still open, but I knew if I did one more maze that I would not be able to walk to the car. As it is, I had a hard time making it there. Last night was rough. I could barely hobble to the bathroom as much as I needed to. Today, I'm in a lot of pain. My muscles hurt like hell, my back is fucked up, I can't get up without help from Rob, and I can barely walk. And to think, I'll be going there once more this year! No, I'm not a masochist, I have plans with Mindy and won't cancel them for anything. It's something she and Kat and I do every year. Unfortunately this year Kat can't make it, but Mindy and Rob and I already have our tickets. Today is a whole lot of household work. Cleaning the house top to bottom (my Mom is coming out tomorrow) and doing more laundry that I think we can possibly get done today (sheets, towels, and blankets for my Mom and our clothing). We're not going anywhere - just staying in and working. Bleh. Tomorrow my Mom arrives! ----------
