2005-11-25 12:01 AM Thanksgiving Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Content Read/Post Comments (0) Wednesday night Rob and I headed up to a mall in Thousand Oaks. Nice mall and a very nice area. The air was a lot more breathable than here in LA (although there was a faint cow poo odor). The Lane Bryant up there was holding one of those sweater jackets I've been looking for (the only damn thing I've found that will work as a jacket and actually close while I'm pregnant) for me in my size and in the color I wanted (green). While getting that I also picked up a PJ set (long sleeve top and pants). I don't know if it will fit me while pregnant, but it has sheep on it and Rob just has a thing for me wearing a sheepie sleepshirt. After Lane Bryant we made a stop at a Motherhood for more maternity panties (they usually only have one or two in my size at each store so getting what I need means going from store to store). After that we had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Yes, I was able to stick to my GD diet there. While I ended up having to get a salad for dinner because I couldn't find much else without carbs, I was able to have a slice of cheesecake. Not only was it low carb, but it was also made without any sugar. Woot! Dinner was good and we headed back home when we were done. At home we played a game of Three Dragon Ante that we gave up on after five and a half hours of playing. On Thanksgiving, we slept in since we didn't even get into bed until after 4am. When we got up we got ready and headed out to dinner. We had 5pm reservations at The Stinking Rose. Dinner was super yummy. Lots of garlic and some amazing turkey. I think this is one of the few Thanksgivings that has turned out well for us. In 2004 we gave up on trying and just went to Disneyland. In 2003 I was super sick and we ordered in from Jerry's (which wasn't very good and for some reason the food kept scaring the cats). In 2002 we went to Home Town Buffet and the "spurkey" just made us depressed. But going to The Stinking Rose this time worked out just fine. After dinner we headed over to the big AMC theatre in Burbank for a 7:30 showing of the new Harry Potter movie. There was a bit of a line outside the theatre, but we only had to wait in it for a few minutes. I'm surprised at how many people were at the movies. By the time the movie started the theatre looked like it was sold out and at capacity. All in all it was a very good movie and I think I liked it better than the previous ones (which I did like very much). It was a lot more adult and a very fun movie. I'm thinking we should get the books at some point so that we can read them to Gabriel (which also gives us an excuse to read them ourselves). After the movie we made a stop at the grocery store and then headed home. ----------
