It's alive! For now...

Due to certain reasons, I won't be posting about yesterday's activities for the public. However, two interesting things happened yesterday that I will share with everyone:
1. There was a point when we were out with the baby and there was nowhere to change him. So, Rob decided to use his trunk as an impromptu changing table. Right as Rob was done and picking Gabriel up people walked by and saw Rob taking Gabriel out of the trunk. They looked rather horrified. He told them he needed a place to change the baby and they looked a bit more relieved.
2. While driving on a freeway we drove by a truck that had it's interior lights on. I glanced over and saw a guy with a huge bong (which probably went down to the floor) between his knees smoking up while going very slowly on the freeway. Wow. Can't wait until you get to your destination to smoke up? I wonder how the steering wheel was being held.

Today was the nightmare of dealing with my car. Not so easy when there's a baby involved. Hell, nothing is easy when a baby is involved. The tow truck guy called up to the apartment around 10am. Mom let him into the garage while I took the baby down to the car. He tried to jump the car and nothing happened. He said we'd probably need it towed to the Lexus dealer, but just in case he called a guy who had a portable jumper. Apparently there's a bit more power to that than when you do a car to car jump. The guy with the portable jumper came and finally we got the car started. I'm so glad we didn't have to tow it. Who knows what sort of problems it would get from the tow. During all of this I strolled the baby around so he wouldn't get fussy (or breathe in too much carbon dioxide) and my Mom helped the tow guy try to start my car. Once it was started we headed over to the Lexus dealer.

Normally I get a free loaner car when my car is in there. They even offered me one today. However, with the baby we really can't get a loaner car since it doesn't have a car seat in there. And moving the car seat base from my car to the loaner car would be a nightmare. So, we just waited. They told us it would be about 4 hours. It was only about three hours, but of course I was called right in the middle of feeding the baby. I checked out and six hundred and some odd dollars later went back to feeding the baby before we left. When he was done with his bottle we headed out (and of course he decided to yurp on the ride home). Mom and I picked up some food on the way home because it was around 2:30pm and we had yet to grab foodage.

So, now my car supposedly works again. Yeah, right. It was supposed to work after the battery was replaced last July. We'll see. I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before it dies again. I wish I could get a new car that actually worked, but there's no way that's happening any time in the near future.
