Friday night before the D&D game Rob and I gave Gabriel his first taste of solid food - rice cereal. All in all the feeding went rather well. Granted, he had more of it on him (or on us) that in him, but he wasn't trying to spit it out. He just had problems not drooling it all over the place. He did seem to like it though. He'll be getting rice cereal for this week and then this Friday we'll be trying carrots.

Around 7:30pm Berek and Pita arrived for the D&D game. The game went very well and I think we all had a good time. We spent a good amount of time at the beginning just talking and playing with Gabriel, but when we started we stuck with it. I think we should be having another session this Friday night.

Saturday we had to get up and head out to Montclair because Rob had a hair cut appointment with Margie out at Gebhart. I played with Margie's grandkids while Rob got his hair cut and then we headed to Golden China for lunch. After Golden China we made a run to Target so that I could get some drug store items and so that we could check out their play pens. Their play pens sucked. So, we then went to Babies R Us where we picked up a Baby Einstein pack n play for Gabriel. Since he can squirm out of his chair I needed somewhere safe to put him when I have to do things like laundry or go to the bathroom. And since he loves being on the floor and having tummy time, we thought he might like a play pen. So far, he does seem to like it. After Babies R Us we grabbed some chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A to take home with us for dinner, grabbed some drinks at Lollicup, and then headed towards out area. We made a pit stop at The Game Zone for some new D&D books (Book of Nine Swords and Dragons of Faerun) and then went home.

Sunday we spent most of the day around the house and made a quick run out to a drug store and to pick up a pizza from Barone's. That went badly. We ordered the pizza and were told it would be 35 minutes. When we got to Barone's new location we saw that they only had valet parking. That didn't work for us because Gabriel and I were going to stay in the car, so we needed to find a street spot. We found one a ways away. Rob went to get the pizza. He said the place was completely crowded and people were surly because they had been told they would be seated in 20 minutes and it had been over an hour. There were also problems with pick up orders. Gabriel and I waited in the car for an hour! When the pizza was 35 minutes late (double the time they had told us on the phone) Rob asked for a refund and told them this was unacceptable. Right then they realized that the pizza had been sitting out for awhile and no one had bothered to call out his name. So, he grabbed the cold pizza and headed out. They wouldn't give him a refund. He also said in all of this chaos of pissed off customers the owner didn't give a shit and just ignored it all. Nice. Barone's has really gone to shit.

We finally got our pizza home, had dinner, watched Big Brother, gamed a bit, bathed Gabriel, and headed to bed. Gabriel slept from about midnight until around 3am and then he once again was up all night crying and refused to sleep in his crib. *sigh*

My finger is doing better. I tried to pop it on Saturday night with one of the sterile lancets I used to use to test my blood when I was pregnant. The lancet went in just fine and was able to poke several holes, but none of the green stuff would come out. So, I decided to use the holes to put peroxide into it. It bubbled a lot and as of today the green is gone and that whole area is white, peeling, and the holes are a lot bigger. It's a bit creepy looking, but at least it's not green anymore.
