Rob Peed On The Baby

Yesterday we just stayed around the house. None of us wanted to do much of anything. We vegged, ordered in food, and watched The Simpsons and The Amazing Race.

Gabriel was having sleep issues again last night. At one point Rob fell asleep with him on the comfy chair. He woke up to find out that he was soaked. He claims the baby peed through his diaper and all over Rob (even Rob's underwear was soaked), but I think he peed on the baby. Okay, maybe not, but I'm pretty sure if he did pee on the baby he'd be going to hell. Since his underwear was wet he said he did have a moment of "holy crap did I pee on the baby" but then woke up enough to realize Gabriel had peed through his diaper.

Things are semi-insane around here right now. In about a week and a half Rob will be out in Milwaukee for 3 days to interview with and meet with one of the places he's already had 2 interviews with. Things are looking good on that front and if he gets offered the job we'll need to head right back out there to find a place to live. While it absolutely sucks beyond all measure that he's going to be gone, the bright side is that my Mom will be coming out here to give me a hand with Gabriel. *big sigh of relief* We were tempted to see if my Mom would babysit Gabriel while she's out here so we could do the Halloween Haunt at Knott's this year, but the days they want Rob out there mean it's not possible. Damn. I've been to that Haunt every year (usually more than once) since I moved out here in 1992. Looks like it's not going to happen this year because we have no babysitter and that's not a place to bring a seven month old.

Speaking of which, as of today Gabriel is now seven months old. Wow. Time really does fly.

In other somewhat crappy news we recently realized we might have to get rid of one of our cats. There have been an array of problems, the worst of which is having to suction out Gabriel's nose and have him cough up crap in the morning because (much like me) he's allergic. Amber has fairly long hair and has made my allergies and asthma much worse since we have gotten her (but I'm an adult, know what's going on, and can deal) and it's looking like Gabriel's having some problems as well. While I can deal, I don't want to see Gabriel having such problems when he's so young and can't be on medications. Plus, since he has a family history of asthma, I'm worried about him getting breathing problems since he already is getting allergy problems. Unfortunately, we have yet to find someone who is looking for a cat. So... if anyone is interested in taking an amazing white and orange girl cat (spayed) who is super smart into their house... please let me know. This is Rob's cat and I left the decision up to him and I think after this morning it's looking like we might have to switch to a one cat household with just Sydney.
