Happy Halloween everyone!!! I love Halloween, this has to be my all time favorite holiday. Hooray for Halloween!

I slept in a bit this morning (until around 10:30am) and was amazingly able to sleep through the banging of the roofers. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore. It was a bit difficult to shower because they were working right by the skylight and could have seen everything (though I don't know why anyone would want to) if they had chosen to. I also kept having to go to another bathroom to pee because they were up there. Ugh. Luckily, they finished with the roof and reparing the broken skylight today so there will be no more loud banging starting at 7am.

Once I was up and ready I headed with my Mom to the grocery store (Dick's is now a Piggly Wiggly) while Rob stayed home with Gabriel and my Nana. Mom and I did the grocery shopping and then came back here to chill out before it was time to trick or treat. The trick or treating was tonight from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

When it got close to the time we were going to leave I put some horns on my head and attached a red vinyl devil's tail to my pants. We put Gabriel in his vampire (Strahd von Babyvich) costume and popped his fanged binky into his mouth. He looked so cute.

At first we had a hard time finding a place to go trick or treating. So many of the houses in Galena had their porch lights off and weren't giving out candy. We found a small area with some houses giving out candy and then drove around to find more. We then found about four other houses on the same block and once again drive to find another spot. Third time was the charm and we ended up finding a block where most of the houses were giving out candy. We did a lot of that area and decided not to keep going because my Mom was getting hungry and Gabriel was getting cold. All in all Gabriel got some good loot.

Trick or treating was so fun. I used to love it when I was a kid and went out every year until people started questioning my age. I think I got away with it through Freshman year in high school or so. I missed it and now that I have a son, it gives me an excuse to go out again. It was also cool seeing the other parents out with their kids and looking at the costumes. Gabriel got a lot of compliments on his vampire costume... probably as many as he go on his lobster costume at the Halloween parade. We weren't able to get any pictures done, but we think we'll put him in both costumes one of these nights and try to take a few pictures then. I cannot even begin to say just how much fun it was to go trick or treating with Rob and my little vampire Gabriel.

After trick or treating the five of us headed to a new Greek restaurant in town. I think it's called Aegean or something like that. It's where the Chinese restaurant (House of China) used to be and while I miss House of China, this Greek place was really rather good. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's place and now we're just chilling out a bit. If I can stay awake I'm going to try to get the Neopets Halloween sidebar tonight even though I'll have to be on here (and probably don't have that great of a chance of getting it while on dial up) at 1:59am. Ugh. If I make the effort, I hope it pays off!
