2006-11-01 7:17 PM Dubuque Aquarium Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (5) Last night I stayed up rather late. I was a dork and tried (and succeeded) to get the Halloween sidebar on Neopets. The only way to be able to use it on a permanent basis (and not just on Halloween) is to refresh between 11:59 and midnight at the end of Halloween... Pacific time. So, I stayed up until 1:59am to get that damn sidebar. I think it was worth it. I haven't had the chance to try for it in previous years because I've never been home at that time on Halloween night. And I know I won't be able to try for it in the future because when I'm living out here staying up until 1:59 on a work night won't work either. So, since I was here and didn't have to get up at any particular time this morning, I decided what the hell. So yeah, I slept in until around 11:15am this morning and it felt amazing. When I got up I showered and got ready and ate lunch and then the five of us headed out. We all headed to Dubuque and Mom dropped off Rob, Gabriel, and myself at the Aquarium. My Mom and Nana then did their own thing for about an hour and a half. Gabriel seemed to like it there. We showed him the alligator (named Skippy McGatorPants by yours truly a few years ago) and he seemed to love the new catfish exhibit. I liked some of the snakes. When we were done there I got two signs for our apartment (snake crossing and bat crossing), a teeny stuffed bat for myself, and a stuffed catfish for Gabriel. I had wanted to get him a stuffed alligator, but they were all so big and he seemed to like the catfish a lot. So, he now has a stuffed catfish. After the Aquarium, Mom picked us up and we all headed to dinner at The House of China. At least their Dubuque location is still there. The Chinese food was amazingly yummy and when we were done we headed back to my Mom's house. Tomorrow's going to be hell. We have to get up super early and we're making another Milwaukee run to check out more apartments. Hopefuly, we'll find something we like. If we find something perfect, we'll sign the lease then and there. If not, we'll discuss things on Friday and sign something on Saturday before heading to our hotel for the night. Rob still doesn't know if he has the job or not. He called them on Monday and they told him that out of seventeen applicants, they've narrowed it down to two... and he's one of the two. *fingers crossed* I so hope he gets this job. And I hope he finds out soon! It will make a huge difference on the apartment. If he does have the job then we want to move in December. If not, then we want to wait until January because Rob's current boss offered him a bonus if he stayed on until January. If we don't know about the job, we'll probably have to sign something to start in December and go from there. ----------
