Good Weekend, Bad Monday

My head is killing me.

Saturday we did our usual errands. I got to get some extra sleep in the morning and then we headed out. We grabbed lunch at Burger King and some ice cream at Coldstone and then did all of our weekend errands. We went to Babies R Us, Menards, Walgreens, and the grocery store for our weekly shop. We grabbed dinner from Chin's and then headed back home. We watched the pilot for Forever Knight to compare it with the original Nick Knight and got the Poopchuck all cleaned up. I also took my shower at night because I didn't want to have to get up at 7am to get it done on Sunday morning.

On Sunday we got up at 8am so that we could get out the door before 9am. We decided to head to the Ren Faire again. The weather was supposed to be cloudy with on and off thunderstorms with a high in the upper 70's. The weather channel's website lied. It was sunny and in the 90's. Ugh.

We got there a little before 10am (opening) and got amazing parking. We were mere steps away from the gate. You couldn't get much better parking than that. We used our season passes to pick up the tickets and then headed in when the gates opened.

As usual, we looked around the shops, walked around, people watched, and ate tasty Ren Faire foodage. Foodage was yummy, Sassafras is amazing, and Gabriel seems to actually *gasp* eat at the Faire! He loved their mac n cheese bites.

We spent some time talking with one of the dressed up Faire people and she loved Gabriel. She was the only one who knew he was a boy (even though he was dressed like a boy) and it was probably because she has a two year old as well.

Gabriel is head over heels in love with the spider fairy. He spent close to a half an hour hanging out with her in her webs. She gave him a piece of her white web string, a piece of colored string, and a key on a piece of string as well. She has little trinkets that she hangs from her web, that was one of them. We asked her if she minded him hanging out with her and while she doesn't speak, she did make gestures that it was fine. He seemed to get more attention from her than any other kid there. Then again, none of the other kids wanted to be around her for so long. When we finally put him in his stroller to move on, he had a fit. We promised him he would see her again the next time we go to the Faire.

While there we found a stand selling foam weapons. We were going to get Gabriel a foam dagger (it's pretty much a sword for someone his size), but he wanted a small warhammer as well. So... Gabriel now has a foam warhammer. Sorry Sydney.

Rob took Gabriel in the maze again and he found more gold coins. At one point he stacked them all up and said "my loot". He also picked a flower in there for me. So sweet.

My Bug Bam bracelet seemed to work again. The place had an absolute ton of mosquitos and while Rob did see them landing on me, so far, I only have three bites. One on my foot and two on my lower leg. Considering how many I had last year, that's amazing. I'll keep an eye out to see if any more develop. Gabriel seems to be bite free.

We headed out of the Faire around 1pm. It was hot (I could feel myself cooking even under SPF 50 sunblock) and humid (I was covered in a sheen of sticky sweat) and even Rob was uncomfortable (which is amazing because he's as tolerant of the heat as I am of the cold).

We made a brief stop at White Castle for a few sliders and then headed back home. When we got home I showered and got some laundry done. We made a quick run out later on for some dinner (take out from Machine Shed) and then came back home to game and watch Big Brother.

Last night when I went to bed I had a minor headache, so I slapped some Migraine Ice on my head and passed out.

I woke up at 2am with a splitting migraine. The Migraine Ice had dried up so I took it off, took one of my migraine pills, and went back to sleep.

I then woke up at 5:30am with an even worse migraine. After dry heaving into the toilet for awhile, I took a second pill and went back to bed.

When I got up this morning, the migraine was still there. The pills had made it so I didn't heave again, but it was still bad. Over time, it's gone down to a minor migraine, but light and sound make it all the worse.

I told Gabriel this morning that I was feeling sick and asked him to please be a good boy for me today with minimal spazzing. So far, he's listened. Thank god, I don't think I could run around all day without passing out. I feel like total crap. I'm also overly warm. I wonder if too much sun exposure yesterday is what brought all of this on.

A sword

Your symbol is a sword. You can be rather short-tempered and aggressive at times but you are loyal to your friends and stay true to whom you trust. At times, you may see violence as a solution to problems. You are not always the diplomat and can be very outspoken. You have built-in strength and a strong mind. More often, you play the role of the leader. You believe your ways to tackling life are correct and would not let anyone manipulate you.

What Is Your Symbol?
