Note to self (and anyone ever sending a package my way): never ever require a signature. Seriously.

Yesterday UPS stopped by (and didn't ring the bell) and left a note on the front door saying that they had a package for me that needed a signature. I read over the notice and it said I could sign the back, and the package could be left. I did so and it was taped to our front door for them to take.

This morning, UPS came by again and rang the bell... several times when I didn't head down to get the door. Gabriel was awake and I couldn't leave him alone upstairs while I ran down to get the package. He can get into a lot of trouble even if I turn my back for less than a minute, not to mention trying to get down the front stairs himself. So, I went out onto the balcony to talk to the UPS guy and told him that I signed the package slip. Not good enough. He needed my signature on his pad. *sigh* I couldn't just send it back with him because we're heading out tomorrow night to Chicago right after Rob gets home from work so there's no time to head over to UPS to pick it up. So, I picked Gabriel up and carried him down the stairs. Do you have any idea how painful it is to carry an almost 3 year old down a flight of steep stairs when you have a bad knee? Ouch. I held him while signing the pad and then had to carry him back up, run back down quickly to grab the deliver, and then run back up before Gabriel could get into any trouble.

My knee is killing me. This is the one I fractured last Spring and I have permanent nerve damage there. I have to take Tylenol PM every night to get to sleep otherwise the pain keeps me up. It sucks. Having to tote Gabriel down and up the stairs did not help matters. Oh well, at least it's over and done with.

Damsel in distress!

You are always the center of attention. Whether you're bursting into tears or walking in with a new outfit. Give other people a chance to shine sometimes, you can't always have the spotlight! You can be really sweet and kind sometimes! But when your angry... watch OUT! Try standing up for yourself sometimes, instead of melting into tears. The prince might be too busy to save you one day, and then what will happen?
