2008-12-22 10:05 AM Lots of Catching Up Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (0) With Journalscape being down on Friday and my not being online much on the weekends, I have a lot of catching up to do. Friday: Rob was told that he didn't have to be in to work until 9:30am because of the huge snow storm that hit the night before (we had 14 inches in our area). He checked before he left in the morning to see if work was still going on, and to our surprise, it was. So, he headed down to the car only to be met with a three foot wall of snow in front of our garage (from drifting and such). Our apartment complex wasn't plowed out and neither was the street we live on. From the looks of it, the main street was, but that really doesn't help when you can't get your car out of the garage or over to the main street. So, he called in and let his boss know he wasn't going in. There was no way he could get his car out. We were finally plowed out around 4pm. So, we headed out to the bank so that I could make a deposit, the post office to mail out rent and bills, and then grabbed dinner and headed back home for the night. At home we watched Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Very good movie, I really like the Hellboy movies and hope they make another one down the road. Saturday: Saturday morning I had a hair appointment. Same color and a cut. I brought Kylie a diaper bag filled with goodies (baby blanket, binky thermometer, taggie book, stuffed bunny with chewie feet...). She's preganant and I wanted to get her something for the baby. She loved it. We talked and she did my hair and as usual it looks great. I also gave her an extra tip for Xmas. She was surprised since I had already given her the baby gifts, but I told her those were for the baby and that was for her. She was a sweetie and booked me far in advance so I would have someone else to see when she's on maternity leave and then I had another appointment with her when she got back. When my hair appointment was done, it was time for errands. Rob and I tried to make a stop at the mall for a last minute gift, but after getting trapped in an aisle, we said no way. There were way too many cars and no spots left. Not worth it. We tried to go to Fresh Market for groceries, but the market is attached to the mall and all the spots were taken so that didn't work out either. We then went to the pet supply store to get more dry food for Sydney and made a stop at the game store so Rob could pick up the latest DnD book. We stopped off at home, dropped stuff off, used the bathroom, and then headed back once more. We went to Wal*Mart for Xmas supplies (wrapping paper, bows, name tags, tape, etc.) and then headed to the main grocery store for our weekly shop. By the time we got out of the store, it was snowing once more. We headed back home, dropped the groceries off, and went right back out to pick up take out from an Indian restaurant. By this time it was snowing rather badly out and when we got home, we were in for the night. Yeah, like we needed more snow (and, of course, more is on the way). We stayed in for the rest of the night and gamed. Sunday: The snow had stopped, but it was -2 out (-35 with the wind chill) and the wind was horrible. So, while it wasn't snowing, the drifting was bad enough to start re-covering the roads. We decided to only head out for lunch and made a Chioptle run and then came back home for the day. We had a crockpot meal going (ham and beans) and finally were able to put our Xmas tree up. It's a good thing we didn't have the time to put it up earlier because even with a fence around it, Gabriel is trying to destoy it. Our Cthulhu wreath was hung and so were all of our stockings. We wrapped up my Mom's presents (though I still am waiting on some in the mail) and I wrapped up Rob's presents. We couldn't wrap Gabriel's yet because he didn't go to sleep until late last night and by the time he was asleep all we wanted to do was sleep as well. Nothing decent was on TV last night so we watched some of out volume 1 Super Milk Chan Netflix DVD. Hrm, I think back when it was on Adult Swim it was super edited. ----------
Your country is 56 concerned with morals, 75 prosperous, 46 liberal, and 55 aggressive! You are a hegemon. The top cheese militarily, your country is guided by a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong. Though your government is conservative, people look to your culture and prosperity as a guide for progress. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
