Gabriel is amazing. He's now able to read words I haven't taught him using phonics. He was able to read the word "love" on a shirt I was wearing by sounding it out. He also did this with the word "butter". I'm so proud of him. My only concern is that when he starts preschool in a year, he'll be WAY ahead of what they're going to be teaching. He's three and can already count, do basic addition, say the alphabet, recognize letters even when they're out of order, sound out words, and read a bit by using phonics. As much as I'd like to be working right now (both for the money and for the adult contact), I think I'm doing a really good job of giving him a head start in life.

I'm still sick, still with a sore throat as my only symptom. My glands are swollen and my neck looks somewhat swollen as well. At first, the sore throat was at the back and top of my throat. Yesterday it moved to the right side. Now, it's up front. It barely hurts when I'm doing nothing. It hurts somewhat when I talk. It hurts like hell when I swallow. Ugh.

So, this whole Michael Jackson thing really has me pissed off. I'll say right now, the man was a musical genius. I LOVE his music and have (for a very long time) gone around blaring his albums while I'm driving. Thriller is and always will be one of my favorite songs. I'm not, nor have I ever been, embarassed to say I like his music. However, that's not to say that I didn't frown on his scandals. If he really did molest young boys, that's disgusting. Yes, he was creepy. Yes, he seemed to be a pervert, and you know something - my opinion of him DOES NOT CHANGE now that he's dead. He's still a creepy weird pervert who made some of the best music around.

So, why is everyone going from condeming him to loving him??? If you think someone is a child molesting weirdo when they're alive and are going to talk shit about them then, then don't be a fucking hypocrite and pretend to love them now that they're dead.

The hypocrasy is making me sick.

Or, if you're going to say so many good things about someone after they're dead, THEN SAY THAT WHEN THEY'RE ALIVE AS WELL!!! Seriously. Why treat someone well and say great things about them when they're dead and don't know it's being done? Why not treat them that way when they're alive?

It is not all right to talk shit about someone when they're alive and then claim that they're wonderful when they're dead. Either stick to your guns and don't be a fucking hypocrite when they die or, even better, be as nice to someone in life as you would be when they're dead.

Is it that hard to just be nice to people and say nice things about them when they're alive?
