Today is one of Rob's work from home days, so I made an appointment with the car dealer to get my battery checked out. Rob stayed at home with Gabriel and watched him while he tried to get some work done. I say tried because our internet has been on the fritz all day. Sometimes we have it, sometimes we don't.

The car appointment went well. I went to the new building (which is now separate from the dealer) for service. It was really nice and had a super nice waiting room. The battery checked out normal. With a hybrid I need to be driving it every other day or it won't be able to start. It'll still have a charge (enough for the lights and such) but it takes more power to start it than it does a normal car. He said there was something that could be installed to the battery that plugs into an outlet for when I won't be driving it all that much. I think I might make an appointment down the road to get one of those put it. It sounds like a good idea, especially in winter when I'll be driving even less (or when I go on a trip and can't drive it).

They replaced both pins on the battery cover. Not only did the AAA guy who jumped the car the other night lose one down under the hood (they weren't able to find that), but he also broke the other one. *sigh*.

While I was gone Rob let some city inspector in. They needed to inspect our water softner and how it was hooked up. Apparently when we moved in here Culligan filed a permit, but there was never an inspection. It all checked out well and Rob told me that Gabriel really cuted the guy out. Apparently when he came in Gabriel looked at him and said "Hi. I don't know you."

So yeah, car checked out as normal and I might get one of those battery things that plugs into the wall installed down the road.
