After over a week of pestering our manager, the light switch to the master bathroom is finally fixed. There was no call back from the manager as to when or if someone would be coming by. Instead, yesterday afternoon, someone stopped by unannounced. Heh, it's a good thing I was at home and didn't have any need to head out that day.

The manager made it seem like he was calling in an electrician. He wasn't. It was the same maintenance guy who's done pretty much every other repair around here. Whatever, I don't care anymore as long as it's fixed.

He couldn't figure out the reason for the connectivity problems, the sparking, or the humming. So, he just changed out the switch. It seems to work just fine now.

I can totally understand that having no light in the bathroom isn't an emergency (for us, the true emergencies are when there's a problem with the air conditioner, heat, washer, or dryer), but when it's sparking and buzzing, you would think the term "fire hazard" might come into their heads and they might check it out sooner than over a week from when we first called. Sheesh.

We never had these problems when our manager lived on site. But, they fired her after her husband died (on the property doing maintenance work no less) and hired on someone who was managing another property across town. So our manager doesn't even live on site. Aargh.

Last night by the time Rob got home from work, I was completely exhausted. Today, I'm super tired. I don't know why, but I haven't been sleeping very well recently. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and it's hard for me to get back to sleep. I've always had a bit of insomnia (mostly falling asleep problems), but now that's coupled with waking up at least once an hour (usually more). So, needless to say, I'm super tired. I'd just like a normal night's sleep and to be able to wake up refreshed.

Train through Europe

You scored 58% culture, 15% social, 14% activity, and 22% adventure!

A train trip through Europe is a fantastic way to enrich yourself with many different cultures within a relatively short distance. The train service in Europe is out of this world and almost always on time. It doesn't lump you together with a group since you prefer to be independent, yet it takes the scariness out of navigating around a new country in a rental car, trying to make sense of the map. The train system brings you from downtown to downtown and there are often hotels within a short walk of the station. You could decide which countries interest you the most and if you are eligible, buy a rail pass in advance to save a bundle of money. Arriving at a European train station is an architectureally beautiul way to introduce yourself to a new city and it sets the perfect scene for your new experience.
