Mom's Visiting; Nana's In The Hospital

Mom came into town yesterday. On her way here, three of the dashboard lights came on. One was "check engine", one was a bunch of squiggles that usually come up when you lose traction, and the third was "VSC off" which means that the vehicle stability control is off. She doesn't have a cell so when she arrived to visit my Nana, she called me from the nursing home phone. I called the Lexus dealer and she has an appointment for today at 1pm if she needs it, but he said to check the gas cap. I know she always gets gas on the way out here and Alan said that if the gas cap wasn't put back on tightly, it can cause a pressure imbalance that will turn all three of those lights on. So, she re-did her gas cap.

After spending time with Nana she came over here and watched Gabriel while I went through mounds of paperwork for his preschool. By the time I was done, my carpal was hurting all to hell. Later that night when Rob got home from work we got takeout from Asiana and chilled out around the apartment.

Around 8:30pm, my Mom got a call from my Uncle Kim. My Nana had been having some severe leg pain and swelling and was on hardcore pain meds for it that were making her loopy. She was being taken off those meds that night and everything got worse, so it was time for her to head to the ER. My Mom headed over there and didn't get back to the apartment until after 3am.

She's currently sleeping, so I don't know a lot of what happened. She did mention that my Nana has a raging UTI, but I don't know about the other details yet.

Apparently, the lights went off in my Mom's car on the way home from the hospital last night. So, I need to call Alan today and see if she should still bring the car in. When she wakes up, I know she wants to get some coffee at Alterra and some nuts at Fresh Market and I also need to drop some papers off for Gabriel's preschool at his doctor's office for the doctor to fill out.

Rob and I have reservations at the fondue restaurant for tonight. Hopefully, we'll still be able to go.
