It's so weird. I'm sitting here at home and everything is quiet. I don't have to keep an eye on Gabriel, things are getting done rather quickly, and the TV is blessedly off. I'm not used to this. Any time I head to the bathroom or do the laundry, I feel like I should be keeping an eye on Gabriel while I do those things. It's very weird to not have him around here today.

This morning Rob and I dropped him off at the pre-school. He immediately went to play with the other kids. He seemed to like his teacher and the only trouble we saw him get into (so far) was trying to take a CD out of a player that he didn't like. We'll see how it goes. He pretty much ignored Rob and I and I don't think he even noticed when we slipped out. Rob then headed off to work and I headed home.

I told them to call me if there were any problems and they said I was welcome to visit during the day to check on him if I wanted to. I haven't decided if I'm going to do that or not yet. On one hand, I'd like to see how he's doing since this is the first time away from us and around other kids. On the other hand, I don't want him to have an "I want Mommy" freak out if he sees me. I guess I'll decide later on in the day. If I don't head over there, I think I'll at least call at some point to check on him.

Hopefully, he'll do well and the socialization will be good for him.

For now, he's only going on Tuesdays. A few months from now we'll bump him to two days a week.
