Last weekend was awesome. We took full advantage of the days off and headed out to my Mom's place.

Friday: Rob was able to work from home in the morning. So, I was able to get my car out for a run then. When he was done with work we packed and headed out. We ended up getting out of the house around 2:30pm. The ride to my Mom's house was, for the most part, uneventful. We made a stop at a gas station for drinks (and a snack for Gabriel) and a bathroom run. There was one detour along the way, but it was the same one we've done in the past times we've gone out there.

We got to my Mom's house a bit before 6pm. We unpacked, ate dinner (the amazing chili she makes from scratch), and watched some TV and just chilled out around her house.

Saturday: Rob and I got to sleep in during the morning. Later on when we were ready, we headed out. Our first stop was at Walmart where we found a whole bunch of Power Rangers toys on a super duper sale. We were able to get them into the cart and check out with them without his seeing. They'll be present for when he does something really good. He absolutely loves the Power Rangers.

We then made a stop off at a farm for some fresh veggies. I got some cucumbers (they were amazing). We then headed into town and had considered walking around town a bit because it was so nice outside, but it was super crowded and so we decided to skip that. We did, however, run into the popcorn shop and get some popcorn. Dill and white cheddar for me and dill and colored candy popcorn for Rob.

We then headed to dinner at Dirty Gurtz and as usual, Gabriel was super well behaved there. He really likes that place. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's place for the night.

Sunday: Once again, Rob and I got to sleep in. It was nice. When we were ready to head out, we made a quick stop at the farm for a few more cucumbers and then headed to the mall in Dubuque.

We got Gabriel a new Elephant and Piggie book at Borders (and a Halloween book to keep at my Mom's place), a Ben 10 costume at a Halloween store in the mall (just for play, he still wants to be the White Ranger for Halloween), and some jeans and other clothing items at Baby Gap.

When we headed out of the mall we made a quick stop at a comic book store (grabbed Gabriel three comics to keep him good at dinner), Long John Silver's (to get Gabriel a kids meal, he loves their fish planks), and then went to dinner at House of China. As usual, dinner at the Chinese restaurant was fantastic. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's place, did up some laundry, and relaxed.

Monday: We got up early and got ready to head out. Once we were packed and ready to go, we showed Gabriel the calendar and told him that Nana would be coming to visit at the end of September. He still didn't want to leave and had a bit of a fit in the car on the way home, but it was better than if we didn't show him the next time he would see his Nana.

The detour was still there on the way back and we stopped off at a gas station for a bathroom break. We made decent time getting home and when we got home we took my car out for a long drive. We then did our weekly grocery shopping at Pick N Save and cooked out burgers and bratwurst on our grill for dinner.

Tuesday: Gabriel was in pre-school and so I was able to get some stuff done around the house and some other errands (picking up cat food at the vet's for Sydney and a bank run) done during the day. When I picked him up from pre-school his teacher said he did very well that day. No potty accidents at all and he was super well behaved. He loves pre-school and at the beginning of November we'll be changing his schedule to two days a week. Probably Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Last night we didn't feel like cooking anything, so we got some take out from Olive Garden and did some gaming.

Lynx

This cat is a beautiful, fast, hunting cat. It can be easily recognized by it's interesting, but cute shaped ears.

What Type of Cat Are You?
