I'm back from the second part of our week long vacation. I already posted about the first half, where we went to my Mom's house for my birthday. So, now it's time to post for the second half, where we went back to my Mom's house for Halloween.

We came back home on Wednesday because we needed to do a whole lot of errands on Thursday. We did our weekly shopping and all that and headed back out to my Mom's place on Friday. This time, Rob drove.

We grabbed lunch at Wendy's on the way out there and the drive was rather uneventful. We got to my Mom's place, chilled out for a bit and unpacked, and then headed into town for dinner. We went to Dirty Gurtz for dinner and the food was great as usual. We then headed back to my Mom's place to chill out for the rest of the night.

On Saturday, we made a run to Dubuque. We looked around Target, Rob ran into a comic book store, and we just had fun. For dinner we went to the House of China and had a rather scary incident on our way back home. My Mom saw a deer by the side of the road and braked, however, the deer still hit us. It bounded up and off of my Mom's hood and then ran off. Had she not braked, it would have gone through the windshield. She didn't hit it and it didn't touch her grill, it literally hopped off of her hood. Amazingly enough, the only damage to her car is a few scratches on the hood. Lexus SUVs can really take a beating if needed.

Saturday night we chilled out around her house and watched the Syfy movie of Red. It wasn't nearly as good as I was hoping for it to be.

Sunday was Halloween and we stayed around the house until it was time to head out for an early dinner. We went to Los Aztecas around 4pm. We were all Power Rangers (the old school ones back from the Mighty Morphin' days). Gabriel had a full on white ranger costume. My Mom, Rob, and I had costume t-shirts. My Mom was yellow, Rob was blue, and I was black.

After dinner it was time to trick or treat. One of the things I love about having Halloween out at my Mom's place is that trick or treating is on Halloween *night*. It was from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Gabriel loved it and kept running from one house to another to get candy faster. He even got a few extra treats because he always said thank you and that seemed to impress some of the people.

At one point, Gabriel asked if it could be Halloween tomorrow as well. I'm pretty sure that's his favorite holiday. It's mine as well.

After trick or treating we headed back to my Mom's place for the night, did some laundry, and watched The Amazing Race.

Monday we headed back home. We made a few bathroom stops along the way, but other than that the ride home was uneventful. When we got home we unpacked, I took my car for a run to make sure it started all right, and we ordered in pizza.

Today, I'm trying to work through everything that's gotten backlogged while I was gone. I also need to make a bank run, vote, get Gabriel from pre-school, and take him to the doctor's for a flu shot. Whew, today is busy.
