Headed out to my Mom's place for Memorial Day weekend. Here's a recap.

Friday:
Rob had a half day of work on Friday, so I picked Gabriel up from preschool around 12:30pm. Rob got home around 1pm and we ate lunch, packed, and got out of the house a bit after 2pm. The drive to my Mom's place was thankfully uneventful and we made one pit stop at a gas station for a bathroom run.
We got to my Mom's place around 5:30pm. We unpacked Gabriel's things and then headed out to Los Aztecas for dinner. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's place to chill out and unpacked our stuff.
I also made a spur of the moment decision that night, I wanted to get a new tattoo this weekend. Gary was booked solid on Sunday, but was able to fit me in at 2:30pm on Saturday. I've been wanting a wrist tattoo for awhile, but didn't know if it was going to be ivy or a snake eating it's own tail.

Saturday:
I was dropped off at Gary's Tattoos a bit before my appointment time of 2:30pm. My Mom, Rob, and Gabriel did their own thing (played in a park, went to McDonalds and Walmart, etc.) while I got the tattoo done. I ended up deciding on the ivy. I also decided to add in a cherry blossom. It's on my left wrist (my right one is the one with the cyst and the bad carpal tunnel and might need surgery down the road - which would screw up the tat) and is a cherry blossom on the back of my wrist and then the rest of the wrist is surrounded by ivy. It looks amazing. I'll post pics of it to my Facebook account when it heals in about 4-6 weeks. I love it.
Rob came in right at the end of the tat and then we met back up with my Mom and Gabriel. We headed to Dirty Gurtz for dinner (Gabriel loves that place) and then back to my Mom's for the evening.
I've learned the hard way that I really can't drink hard alcohol anymore and just need to stick to wine and champagne when I do drink. I tried some cherry brandy (my old usual favorite alcohol) and all it did was burn my throat and stomach - and I didn't even get tipsy from it. Ugh.

Sunday:
We headed to Dubuque for a few things. I stopped in Younkers to pick up some Clinique make up that I had been looking for. We stopped in a Western wear store to try and get Gabriel a cowboy hat, but that didn't work out. The one size fits all youth hats were all too small on his head and the adult sizes were all too big. Gabriel is just like my Mom and I and has a huge head. I can't even get my head into a men's extra large hat! Mom also wanted to pick up some vacuum cleaner bags, but the store closed down and the place the sign on the door recommended to go to wasn't open on Sundays.
We had dinner at House of China and it was fantastic as usual. We only saw Kevin there briefly and Lee wasn't there at all (they're the owners and we know them). After dinner we made a stop off to pick up some popcorn at the Great American Popcorn Store in downtown Galena and then headed back to my Mom's place for the night.

Monday:
Monday morning Gabriel was in a bad way. He was all stuffed up, coughing and vomiting up mucus, and had a fever. He felt horrible. We didn't get out of my Mom's house until around 2:30pm and Gabriel was not happy about leaving. The ride home was once again uneventful and once again we only made one stop off for a bathroom run.
When we got home I took my car out while Gabriel got a bath. We then unpacked and ordered in pizza for dinner. Gabriel had us cook some Velveeta mac and cheese for him, but ended up not being able to eat much of it.
As the night went on, Gabriel was feeling a bit better, but I still thought it would be a good idea to keep him home from school on Tuesday.

Tuesday (today):
Gabriel's still sick, but not as bad as he was yesterday. He's at home from school today. I have an hour long MCLE seminar I need to do from 12:00pm - 1:00pm today and I hope he's good for me during that. I also need to try and get a post office run done at some point. I just hope we can do the post office run before the bad storm that's headed our way gets here. I want to do the run after the seminar.
Right now, Gabriel is sitting next to me on the couch and messing around on his very own computer. He wanted to get up at 7am this morning, so I'm hoping he wants to take a nap sometime today, though I doubt it will happen.
