I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Major reunion

In less than 48 hours I'll be home for one glorious week. Back to my family, my pets, warm weather and... well it's hard not to get a little misty at the thought of our reunion... major appliances.
I am packing a bag of dirty clothes in delicious anticipation of my own washer and dryer. Jeans that eat several quarters to dry went in first. Socks stay here, I won't be wearing them down there anyway. No lines, no panhandlers, no one eying your unmentionables... twill be heaven.
My refrigerator here is sized for wine coolers and jello shots and I have to get on my knees if I need to look inside. At home side-by-side doors are twin sentries of abundance.
I have a real wine cellar at home, climate controlled and zoned for reds and white. So much more efficient than putting it outside on the window ledge.
The oven and I will bake and bask in homey glory. I never really liked the electric stovetop surface, but we're going to cook next week. Who knows, I may even work on my historically dysfuctional relationship with the vacuum cleaner.
No more will I walk department stores with appliance envy. They will all be at my disposal- including the disposal and the dishwasher.
We're talking major good times.
