I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. Bewitched, but not bothered or bewildered

I've worked as a client of PR and ad agencies over the years, but my views of what went on inside of them were largely formed by watching Bewitched (with both Darins).
Mr. Tate was consistently unreasonable and Darin needed a martini when he walked in the door each night.
Even as a kid you had to wonder how bad a job could be when work stressed the poor guy out more than his wife's propensity to turn neighbors into barnyard animals and inatimate objects.
This HAD to be bad.
And likely played into my previous decisions to politely decline any and all invitations to the agency dance.
Either the place I work is very different from the rest, or I was just plain wrong and wasted a lot of time. I obviously prefer the first scenario.
I expected a high level of creativity and energy, but am somewhat astounded by the cooperation. People really pitch in and have fun with it. Each day is as different as the clients with whom you are dealing. I'd been wired for this stuff all along and never knew it.
I recognize there will be exhausting and exasperating days (yesterday filled the bill on the first), but I'm starting to wonder if maybe Tate was just a generic lousy boss and Darin maybe had a drinking problem.
