2006-01-31 4:32 PM Recipe of the Week Read/Post Comments (1) |
I promised recipes when I started this journal and I just realized I have not lived up to my end of the bargain. Well, here's an AWESOME receipe that will make up for it.
HOMEMADE CHILI 1 Family Size Pack of Ground Beef or Ground Turkey 3 Large Onions 2 Fresh Tomatoes 1 Clove Garlic 1 cup of beef or chicken boullion Pinch of Garlic Salt 1/2 cup Chili Pepper Seasoning 1 bag Shredded Chedder Cheese Salt, Pepper, and Tabasco to taste Hot Peppers (optional) Brown the ground beef/turkey in a large pot. Set the meat aside and keep one cup of the grease reserved in the pot. Chop the onions, tomatoes, and garlic. Add the onions to the pot of grease and brown until they become clear. Add the tomatoes, garlic, and meat. Mix together well. Add the boullion, garlic salt, chili pepper seasoning, and hot peppers. Turn heat down to a simmer, cover the pot, and let cook slowly for 90 minutes...stirring occasionally. Garnish with the salt, pepper, tabasco, and cheese. Goes great with cornbread! Bon Apetite!!!
