Some of New York City's finest restaurants have decided for one-day only they want to give back and help the homeless. No matter what your bill totals to, they are donated 10% to the Food Bank for NYC which provides over 250,000 free meals everyday. It's a start anyway. So, if you have money, take your honey out for a snack and you in return will be giving back. This "event" is being sponsered by TimeOut NY. If you can make on-line reservations at opentable.com (which I fondly belong to), you can accumulate points towards freebies everytime you eat out.

Ofcourse, the other option which extends to 365 days of the year is to donate directly to the food bank and volunteer. The list of participating restaurants based by area can be found in this week's TimeOut NY and on-line at opentable.com.

I funny enough haven't eaten at any of them, but the following are ones I'VE NOTICED that have gotten great reviews by the Food Network and other such places:

Lupa
BLT Fish
Mama Mexico
Alice's Tea Cup
The Beer Garden (Astoria) -
I drank there. Great atmosphere!
