2001-11-12 1:00 AM Hurry up and wait Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Impatient Well, it's back to waiting again, on several fronts. My first project (the adaptation) is on the back burner for the next burst of fickle fortune to smile upon it. The Friend Producer showed his roots and vegetated for the entire length of the option. Therefore, the rights to the movie have now reverted back to the author. Well, it was fun while it lasted.
The independant project goes in fits and starts. The director is working on finding a suitable location, at the same time he's throwing out feelers for a new job. In this world of acquisition, his company has been acquired and now layoffs loom, just in time for Christmas. Poor guy! Which means that his low budget gets even lower. I haven't called an agent in a week. I have to start again, but I have to steel myself for another round of rejection. I'm also trying to revamp my phone approach to make me more irresistable. I have a tendency (as do many) to downplay my skill and salability. I need to go in stronger and more confident. Not an easy thing for me to do! Finally, I keep writing. I finished a draft of a fantasy that is in the hands of my erstwhile readers, I'm giving in to the guilty pleasure of episode two of my fantasy series, and I'm researching a World War II that Ken has commissioned. Oh! I almost forgot. I have a historical drama for which a certain Rufus Sewell (he was the antagonist in A Knight's Tale) would be perfect for. I asked my agent to foward the script to Mr. Sewell's agent. I found out last week that they never got the script. Since they're in England, I guess my agent never got their address or never sent it. So, with the permission of Mr. Sewell's agent, I forwarded it directly to them. They should have the script by the end of the week. It will be interesting to see if the script reads better for an Englishman than it does and American. Now, back to the keyboard! Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
