Over the past weekend Faith and I talked about all sorts of things and one of the sadly shorter topics was historical women we admire. She mentioned Eleanor of Aquitaine which piqued my memory. I remember in the fourth grade doing a report on her and being damned impressed eventhough I had a tough time digging up too much on her. After I finished the report kismet struck and I found a book in the children's section of the public library entitled A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver, by E.L. Konigsburg, who is known for many quirky books for kids between ten and 14ish. (At least this is what publishers say, I say Proud Taste is good at any age.) The other book of hers that I remember is From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. Eleanor of Aquitaine truly fascinates/ed me and I'd never forgotten the book, but repeatedly mixed up the title. But now I've found it again and I can keep a record of it here. *grins* Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
