I really enjoy watching trailers. Sometimes I just want to see what I might want to see, since I love movies. Sometimes I want to see the spin that the movie has. When a movie gets three trailers out, you can pretty much tell if it will rise or fall.

Starting in the "maybe even on the big screen""

Why maybe on the big screen? Frankly, I'm sick and tired of rude audiences. Cell phones, beepers, talking, crunching, moving around -- can't stand it any more. I'd rather watch a movie in the quite of my own home than endure the torture of a pay-for movie theater. I saw over 100 movies last year, 3 of which were in a theater (and one of those was the midnight showing of Return of the King). If I'm overwhelmed by the urge to see a film in bigger-than-life size, I'll go to the Arclight where audiences have the unique talent of keeping their mouths closed.

So, Maybe on the big screen:
Shrek 2.
I loved the first one. This one looks to be equally amusing. Puss in Boots has a lot of potential.

Spiderman 2
It's a year for repeats. I thought they did quite well with the firs. They had good story, mixed with great action, and exciting effects. Tobey MacGuire makes a perfect Spidey. The trailer sequence of Peter and Mary Jane confronting their relationship head-on hints to me that they've taken equal care with the story of the second. Besides, I'm a sucker for comic-book heroes.

Troy
How can I not want to see the greatest romance of all time, when Sean Bean, Peter O'Toole and Orlando Bloom have all put efforts to it? (Sorry, Brad Pitt doesn't do much for me.) The effects look promising, but if they don't kill Achilles I will be severely disappointed.

My "must NetFlix!" will include:

Coffee and Cigarettes
It looks like an arthouse film, but I like many of the actors on cast, and something about the trailer intrigues me.

Around the World in 80 Days
I've seen just enough to give it a shot. It looks like it could be very touching or very silly -- I'm not sure which.

Thunderbirds"
Sucker for comic-book heroes, remember? This has all the elements, and as long as it's not childish, I'll be entertained.

The Chronicles of Riddick
Loved Pitch Black. I hesitated when I first saw it, but then I saw Dame Judy Densch. I love her work, and am hoping that she put her talents to a story deserving of it.

Harry Potter
The first two haven't impressed me enough to rush out and watch this newest installment. They've been a tad too true to the books, and as a result have dragged terribly. Being an eternal optimist, I hope they've gotten this one right...

Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself
Touching, funny, poignant. I'm not sure enough to commit at the moment, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Finally, I'll add the "not with a 10-foot pole" items:

I, Robot
Will Smith is a fine actor, not to mention funny, and even eye-candy. He's great in action-adventure stories. However, they appear to have butchered a well-loved, time-honored science fiction classic.

White Chicks
There is nothing about this trailer that works for me. The premise is stupid, the humor too lowbrow and the comedy just not funny.
