If you want a classic war movie with some stellar actors, Battle of Britain might be for your. However, be warned that it's a classic war movie. The stellar actors (Lawrence Olivier, for example) don't really get to act much. The focus is on battles and dogfights and military might. Not necessarily character or plot.
Battle of Britain does have some good aerial footage with number of authentic aircraft that we will never see again. Lots of spectacular explosion, and I'm sure the effects were stunning for 1969. Just not much in the way of gripping drama.
