Action / Animation TV Series 1983 I will freely and wholeheartedly admit that I rented GI Joe for purely nostalgic reasons. After school, I came home and -- as regularly as I could get away with it -- watched afternoon cartoons. GI Joe was one of them. (Thundercats, Transformers and Battle of the Planets are the others I remember, if you care to keep count of such things). When I found GI Joe in Netflix, I couldn't resist. For old times' sake. Well, it has its flaws (a decided lack of physics being one of them), but it still brought a smile to my face. Yeah, it's a little corny, the animation feels primitive, and the dialog simplistic but it's still fun. And it was one of the first shows I remember where a woman could kick some ass and nobody thought twice about it. They were partners (in justice and in crime) and that's definitely one thing I remember from my formative years. For a walk down memory lane, the old neighborhood wasn't too shabby.
