Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." - Plato

We all should be kind to everyone we meet because we don't know what kind of day they have had prior to meeting them.

I'm fighting a hard battle with the attempt to teach myself how to do art. I've not had any lessons except for the suggestions from my sister, the artist of the family, and from that man of mine. He took classes in high school that girls weren't invited to. Actually, we were doing home economics. They best thing I got from that class was learning how to make clothes.

I had a pretty good sewing machine and table and I made most everything I wore except for jeans and underclothing.

Time took its course and I didn't sew for years until I decided to sell my sewing machine and all of its attachments.

Now I have come full circle to where I am re-teaching myself how to knit. I'm working on my first scarf. The sweater I was attempting to make has been sitting for two or more years and probably wouldn't fit me now anyways. So, a nice scarf will do.

I like my new journal because I am drawing, coloring, and writing down my thoughts. What surprises me and causes me some disgruntlement is the fact from social networks; I'm learning to write in small boxes or circles instead of paragraphs.

What if I forget how to write all together from what I first learned? I remember one college writing class, where all of our work was done in a paragraph. The teacher said that if we couldn't write a perfect paragraph the rest of the writing wouldn't fall together.

Even the single paragraph had to have a beginning, middle and an end. The end had to lead into the next paragraph. When I look back at the exercises from that class, I feel I did pretty well. At times I feel it shows up hear within these entries.

Amongst the writing is where I put my art and it is fun.

Here are some shots of my pages:

What appears is not preformed. It is what pops up in my head.

So far, I've been using colored pencils, pencil, and pen

P.S. Sorry this entry took so long to show up. I had to figure how to get my photos from my new camera to my computer. Finally, I found a solution! I don't know if it is the right one but it worked.
