I know this feeling. It's the feeling of the inevitable dragging you into the jaws of reality.

Leave/off/AWOL is just a temporary escape from the reality of toil. The grinding machine that throws work, difficult people, questionable values and whatnot at you to wear you down until you yourself become a nice little polishing pebble that helps the machine do its grisly work.

Perhaps this is the curse...

"By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
and to dust you will return."

and yet

"A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who a can eat or find enjoyment?"

Ah well.
