So I'm in Houston this weekend and driving West on IH-10 Saturday morning I see on the TxDOT electronic billboards the message "All evacuee buses divert Dallas, TX."

Saturday evening the messages have changed to "All evacuee buses divert Ft. Chaffee Arkansas."

So let me get this straight. These buses are carrying folks from New Orleans who are in seriously bad shape (having spent the last 4+ days with little or no food & water). They've driven from the New Orleans area to Houston (Metairie to Houston is 6h 42m according to Yahoo) and are then told to divert to Dallas (4h 42m according to Yahoo) or Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas (9h 39m again according to Yahoo).

Talk about a lack of communication and coordination.

If any of our cities is hit by terrorists, the response we've seen by the feds in New Orleans / the Gulf Region is likely what we can expect in that case which prompts me to ask, WTF exactly has the Dept. of Homeland Security been doing the last 4 years?
