Woke up to rain this morning, and Lake Ashworth was quickly refilled. Sigh. But the rain is beautiful in all its frenzy and quiet droplets in turn.

So I indulged myself with a fire - heartwood from the pine trees we had cut down four or so years ago now. It's sturdier than the outer edges of pine, doesn't burn as fast so makes a nice, long-lasting fire.

Beautiful.
