Okay, so I got up at five this morning, and worked day job from 6am to 3pm. I came home to a house that was completely empty, with the exception of dust bunnies and my cat.

No husband. No kids. No possibility of any of them showing up at the house before 9pm.

Great! I can knock out that 3k today easy! Piece of cake.

Except I need to watch today's Grey's Anatomy at 3. Then take a brief nap at 4. At 4:30 I needed a snack. At 5, I forced myself to the computer and dawdled on email. Then I played a game. Or two. Or three. One of those useless, time-wasting, really fun games.

Finally got down to brass tacks about 6. Except, you know. Needed tea. Then after seven, a small glass of wine. Now it's almost seven thirty and after 1500 really pretty good words, I'm giving up.

Maybe I'll come back to it tonight and get more words down. Maybe not, as I've got to be up at 5am again tomorrow for another day job day.

I really hate it when I don't know exactly where I'm going with the novel and the words aren't coming easy.

May tomorrow be a word-rich day!
