Kids aren't supposed to get hurt. Especially when they're in college. And biking to school.

But mine did. He watched the soccer game being played, instead of the road - and ran right into the curb of the sidewalk.

Ouch. Luckily, a friend of his lives right up the road - or at least, his parents do - and they brought him home, bike and all, after tending to his wounds. My god, thank you parents everywhere who take care of kids like they are your own!!! Seriously!!!

So oldest son is now bandaged and wrist-guarded-my thought is he's either broken his right wrist or severely sprained it, as he has no wish, thank-you-very-much, to bend said wrist. The last time that happened with the same swelling pattern in my family happened when my youngest flung himself from the swing, broke his arm, TOOK A MATH TEST, and WALKED HOME with a broken left wrist. Stupid and rule comforming kid. Just when you think they're beyond the rules...

At any rate. Tomorrow I'll take the oldest to see the doc and we shall see what we shall see. In the meantime, his phone is toast, his bike needs work, and all that means nothing as long as his person is just fine.

We shall see. I shall sleep the uneasy sleep of a mom tonight.
