New Week

Last week we received notification that all electricity was going to be shut down in parts of the building. All computers were to be shut off. (usually we just log off and keep the computers turned on so that any safety updates get loaded during off duty hours.) Anyway, came in this morning and all elevators in my end of the building including the freight elevatory is down. Up the stairwell I came. My knee did not like it at all. I make a point of using the stairs to leave my apartment building in the A.M. even though my left knee complains. So this is a great start to the weekend. Then I will be finding out how much I have to stay in the Division Secretary's office this week, Not much I hope. Our intern is back for a few weeks. That will save some time there.

On the home front, since my back was still acting up-I tried to do something I shouldn't have done and it retwinged. I managed to crochet two complete hat and scarf sets, and started a third. The two completed were done in the yarn print I have discussed before. One of them I made up as I went. But the other scarfs are coming from this months Crochet World. They fall under the pattern "Airport Scarfs." Even though I used worsted weight yarn, the 'Hippie" pattern came out ok. The next set is being made with the thin chenille weave yarn. I am doing 'Lampierda's lace'. I think that is the correct spelling, since I don't have the pattern here. What I have started doing for the hats is working up the pattern for a head band then filling in the middle. Makes the set match. I don't write down the hat pattern-just sort of work it out till it fits. I hope the recipients like them.

Well, almost time to get to work.

I do have a question if woodstock or ericmayer read this, can we pass on ARCs freely? someone in the apartment building left several bags worth, and I have a granddaughter who is a self reader. There were a few juvenile level books that would be worth reading. I read them an only found 1 error. -spelling word should have been 'much' and was printed as 'mush'. It wasn't talking about cornmeal. Thanks for help.
