Attitude

Life is about attitude. Not about who you are or what you are but about your attitude through it all. And most of the time my attitude stinks. I am sorry about that. I have said that before. I am trying to change-hopefully I am catching it faster.

Last night I learned something about my DH. B never has had learned the joy of creating something that is totally his own. How I found this out? I went to make him a new pair of slippers. I could not find the pattern I created when I made the last pair. That is not unusual for me. So I started a pattern from scratch. No biggie, except it was way to big when I measured it against his foot after 1 1/2 hours of work. Ok, so I start over, I knew my mistake, easy to fix. But to him it was the end of the earth. I was going to put too much pressure on myself. Didn't I have a notebook just for my crochet patterns? Where was the pattern for the last slippers that he loves so much? I wasn't a 'true crocheter'. After about 3 minutes, I told him to stop beating a dead horse. The notebooks I have went with me everywhere and for some reason, the one with his old slippers was at work. But these slippers were a little different.

Then he asked a question about the time and the fact that my work was wasted-and I told him that it wasn't wasted, that this was part of the creative process. And the joy of the creative process, seeing what didn't work, and reworking it so that it did work. I asked about the models he use to build, if he ever varied the plans-no. Did he ever make anything from scratch-while he was in service before he met me. NOPE. Couldn't afford the tools. Uh, no-they posts have hobby shops that have tools. B just didn't take the initiative, didn't have the drive. Explains alot.

Anyway, Attitude change will be mine to do. Already done for this week. Will talk to you later.
