2003-08-05 11:59 PM Reprieve Ah, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders! The journal I’m currently copy editing was due on the 9th, but the editor forgot that, and changed the date to the 13th. I was worried about making the original deadline, with the Getty trip and the party in the middle of it all, but I can easily make the later deadline. I promptly stopped copy editing. Now I have just over an hour to do other stuff before I watch some TV (a new show set in Orange County—looks like it’ll be kinda like “Beverly Hills 90210” but with hard-core partying, but it should be amusing—and “Nip/Tuck”).
Finally heard from Ken today. He didn’t call yesterday, and I was fretting, but he’d just had a really, really long day (picked up from the hotel at 8 a.m., finished work at 9:30 p.m.). He’d e-mailed me, though, and the messages were waiting for me when I got up today. He’d given me the hotel phone number and his room number, so I got to give him a wakeup call. [smile contentedly] “The OC” was interesting, something I’ll catch if I’m home and it’s on, maybe, but I won’t care if I miss it. A good ep of “Nip/Tuck” tonight. They’ve managed to create pretty compelling characters and good plot twists, on top of providing a decent amount of thought-provoking material. I hope they can keep it up. Scribbled another couple of sentences on the Cardea story, but can’t call it actual writing. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
