Hello everybody and welcome to "Silly Thinking with Doug Lain Now Fair and Balanced". I'm Jim Farris and I will be filling in for Doug (or as he insists I call him- "Sir Writealot") while he drinks a lot of coffee and plays computer games...er.. I mean writes his novel. I thought I would begin by laying out what I think is wrong with the USA. It's MONEY. Everything we do is defined by money. In a "free" country where you can do what you want the power elite and everyday people have decided to make a whole shit load of money. Period. Everything is work a/o advertising. We advertise to our lower brain functions with messages that tell us "your not good enough" or "rich enough" or "sexy enough" unless you drive this car or drink this cola or go to this bank. It's in bad taste and demeaning. Almost every facet of life from health care to politics is decided by money. We used to have institutions in this country that were created to serve (not exploit) the population. The telephone, power, and school services for example. Since the phone and power have been hijacked into the private sector we have seen prices rise and chaos reign all for the love of the buck. Does it serve the people better? I don't have to answer because we all know the answer is a clear well defined "no". Everybody KNOWS the answer. No one would even try to defend a "yes" yet we all took a nap and let it happen. Politics is about to become a multibillion dollar game where the media (mostly) will get filthy rich(er) by selling advertising to George W. Bush (R)and a trained monkey (D)and all the other Bushes and monkeys that will run. What would it look like if these zombies could not advertise but only run for office? Well, we probably would have never had President Ray gun. Lets say TV advertising is illegal and the media has to GIVE air time to the candidates to speak and debate and these people had to visit every state and campaign. Do you really think W. and Johnny A. and his cohorts could hold up without pictures to help shove him down your throat? No way. And all the while the very media that is getting richer than Daddy Warbucks are supposed to be giving us "fair and balanced" coverage. That is impossible of course and we ALL KNOW IT. What can we do? Stop watching the commercials. Flip, turn, or turn off the set. Better yet resolve that you will not let the advertising in. Activley fight the subliminal effect of pretty pictures and beautiful people. Don't ignore your enemy (and these multi-national companies and polluted politcos are your enemy)know your enemy and activley fight him. Use the tools of persuasion against the very institutions that you are supposed to love. Watch while wide awake. "Watch Deep" and fight the brainwashing.
