Silly Thinking

Hi everyone and welcome to "Silly Thinking with Douglas Lain" now union made.

It's Sunday and time for our Internet award winning weekend feature "A Few Moments With Dead Celebrities".

Today we have a request from a recently deceased celebrity who requested time to address what's on his mind. This has never happened before and we are very honored to accomodate this request.

So join me in a big "Silly Thinking" welcome for Mister John Ritter...



Hello everyone I'm recently deceased John Ritter. Thank you for allowing me this time to talk to you today. First of all I want to thank all of the people for their kind words and tributes bestowed on me after my unexpected death just last month. It really was heartwarming and I do appreciate those nice thoughts, which do help up here. When people think well of you in thier souls it is noted here and helps you through the rough transition period from alive on earth to dead here.

I noted a few days ago that the producers of the series I was on, "8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter", the Disney Corporation, Touchstone Television, and the American Broadcasting Company, (all Disney, by the way) have announced my replacement.

I was quite pleased; he is a TV veteran who specailizes in smart comedy and he is one of the best at light comedic acting.
I was wondering if I could impose on "The Silly Thinking" visual department to provide a recent photo of him and me in a sentence or two? Can we do that? OK... great.

James Garner will be taking my place on ABC in three weeks.

He is 75 years old. I was... well way younger than that. They are replacing me with a 75 year old actor.

I mean, I love James... he's great. But when I thought of it... in the great scheme of things, all being fair, should'nt it have been the other way around? (could we show that photo of James Garner again?)



I don't mean any disrespect, but really now honestly. I'm dead and he's alive? I'm not questioning God and his staff (Could you show a picture of them?)



They have been great to me here, but... well.. I guess I just don't understand how this works.

Anyway thanks again for all the nice words, it is great to be able to talk with you like this, I have to go now, I'm having lunch with Norman Fell.
