2003-01-13 9:46 PM this has been another... megatokyo kicks ass. looks like ironcat finally got the MT manga off the presses. :) it showed up today! yay! it looks faboo and i'm already burried in it...
the weekend went by pretty quick. maybe too quick. but i guess even when you're unemployed in SF, your fun time evaporates like everyone else's. quick wrap of the weekend: friday night: met brian at zee gym. made some dinner, then caught the 10-something showing 'about schmidt' with brian and jason. besides the exploding coke problem, things went over pretty well. i appreciated the movie very much. decent story, funny characters, really excellent film style. it's not a happy movie (not-happy as in this-could-be-you), so there were parts that sort of made me squirm. but it was good overall. saturday: went out to breakfast with brian, aj, and rich at this little place called 'the titanic' it's in the commodore hotel. i had french toast and sausage. sausage and syurp must be the best thing for breakfast ever. unless you smoke. then it's chocolate milk and a cigarette. but then you call it the breakfast of champions... don't believe me? ask dave. anyway. after breakfast, we (the breakfast crew + melissa) went out to see the gangs of new york. it was pretty silly. not a half bad period piece. daniel day lewes plays a really *good* creepy character. dicaprio, pretty face. it was kind of a long movie. i think a bit unnecessarily long. but cameron diaz played a decent character. good entertainment. there was also some reading and general relaxing... you know, weekend stuff. i made foods! basil, garlic, and lemon zest stuffed chicken and a bell pepper (red and yellow), satsuma tangerine, romaine lettuce, and balsamic vinegar sauteed cherry tomato salad. it was yummy. then we (brian y yo) went out to north beach. met a bunch of folk at savoy tivoli. it started out as just rich, brian, and i. it expanded (quickly) to include ira, (his girl) ali,aj, melissa, larry, miguel, robbie, jason, and some guy who's name i didn't catch. hung out for a few rounds, then went to this house party at melissa's friend's house. had a drink there, then bailed. sunday: (um, did i do stuff?!) brian and i went to breakfast. did the gym thing after some digestion. went over to ira's for some football thing. *shrug* don't ask me. i really wasn't paying attention. some girl was selling these hair snaps that she was calling fancy cakes. i thought they were cute, but emphatically *not* me. i was going to try for the shameless product plug, but i can't find the website. if anyone's interested, let me know. maybe i'll post it later. anyway, after ira's we came back here. we tried to organize a monopoly night, but ended up only getting one person to come by, so we ended up watching 'the exorcist' instead. today: i went downtown to have lunch with aj. then headed over to berkeley to hang out with colleen. spent the afternoon pawing through books and wandering around campus. ran into this gal from my massage class. came back here. brian's friend gordon came by bearing sushi! (he was staying here for a few days) he gathered his stuff, then took off. he's supposed to catch a plane for new york early tomorrow (so i think he's staying somewhere closer to the airport with another friend). had some sushi, went to the gym... and now i'm journal-ing :) anyway. off to make some dinner...
