Amazingly, today was a pretty productive day.

I thought I'd spend the morning recovering from the (belated) company holiday party last night (not from alcohol, but from the immense amount of delicious food they gave us), but that wasn't the case. I got up around 10:30, watched the rest of the special features on the Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course DVD, then read the first 170 pages of the fourth Harry Potter book, which is phenomenal so far. Somewhere in there, I boiled some water for tea and oatmeal. Then I paid some bills (including my estimated taxes for this quarter, guh) and balanced my checkbook. After that I printed out the invoice for this past week's work, then wrote the review of The Alchemist's Door that I owe to GMR.

After that, I wrote a quick email to Janet, then headed over to Borders around 7:00. I took a quick peek around the store, mostly to see if the new Locus was out (it wasn't), and reluctantly keeping to my resolution not to buy any more books for the forseeable future unless I absolutely cannot live without them. Then I bought a Black Forest Ham and Swiss sandwich and a medium Cafe Mocha and found a spot right next to a plug so I could power the laptop on Borders's juice. I looked up three hours later and had 1600 words written for the second half of chapter one on An American Symphony! I couldn't believe it. The words starting flowing out of Audi's adolescent mouth and just wouldn't stop. Woo! I've still got around 2000 words to go to close out the chapter, but I know where it's going; I just need to write it. I'll probably get to that in the morning (since my eyes are about to fall out of my head tonight), then revise "Watersnake, Firesnake" and get it ready to send out Monday.

I love days like this.
