Today is a scary day. The date is 06/06/06. Surely, many say, this could herald the coming of the Antichrist and Judgement Day itself.

When nothing happens, the doomsday cultists may shift their focus to the same date in 2066, 2666, 2606 or 2600. Then... 3000, the next millennium (Y3K=Apocalypse!). When nothing happens by then, it will probably move again to 06/06/3006, then 3666, then 4000, then 06/06/4006 and so on. Their best moment of anticipation will surely come on 06/06/6006 - or maybe 06/06/6666.

However, by then there will probably no humans around anyway because we are slowly making our planet uninhabitable.

So maybe the Apocalypse is coming, after all, just minus the dragons and the armies of doom. The usual culprit is to blame, of course: human stupidity.
